Rwanda caretaker coach Jimmy Mulisa insists all is not lost as Amavubi eye nothing but a win against South Sudan when the two teams square off in the second leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday, December 28,

Amavubi trail 3-2 prior to Saturday’s second leg clash and Mulisa said his side must get the job done in Kigali and let the fate decide as far as 2024 CHAN qualification is concerned.

"We have prepared well for the game regardless of the fact that we are in contention or not. We have to defeat South Sudan and see what happens next," Mulisa told the press.

Mulisa admitted that Amavubi’s chances of qualifying are very small after Sudan defeated Ethiopia over two legs.

"But we cannot determine what will happen. We have to play for the country and also take our chances," he said.

Skipper Kevin Muhire indicated that they made some petty errors which resulted in their defeat in the first leg in Juba and all has been rectified in training.

"We will play to win. We made some basic individual errors which cost us in Juba. Those have been corrected and we will go for a win," the midfielder said.
