Semi-final return leg
Rayon Sport v Atraco
RAYON Sport interim coach Baptiste Kayiranga is determined to crash Atraco’s treble dreams by dumping them out of the MTN Peace Cup.
The Blues may have lost 1-2 in the semi-final first leg but Kayiranga is convinced that his team can still qualify for the final when the two teams face-off in Sunday’s second leg.
"In such competitions, away goals count a lot. so, even though we lost the game, I was happy that we scored that crucial away goal and there is no doubt that we are looking to build on it this Sunday,” the former AS Kigali tactician said.
"We also have to beef up our defence because their goals were a result of some defensive mistakes.”
"The tie is still very much alive and we shall do whatever it takes to reach the final,” he said.
Five points adrift of national league champions and table leaders Atraco, the six time Peace Cup champions know that their best chance of silverware lies in the MTN sponsored event.
APR’s task is not any lighter since they now have to forge out a win in Huye.
The reigning champions nearly lost the first leg against Mukura had it not been for a late equaliser from Jean Mugiraneza ‘Migi’.
The game ended 2-2.
