What's next for Nshuti after One Knoxville exit?

Nshuti celebrates his equalizer against Libya in Tripoli with skipper Djihad Bizimana and Omborenga Fitina.

Rwanda international Innocent Nshuti will have to find new employers after being released by American third tier club One Knoxville FC following the expiration of his one-year contract on November 30.

Nshuti, 26, was far from convincing in the jersey of One Knoxville FC during his one-year deal with the club. In 20 games in all competitions, he netted one goal and had no assists. His USL 1 statistics were 12 games, 0 goal and 0 assist.

The move of the Rwanda international to US was not bad considering the fact that he had excelled with APR for five seasons. Pro connect Agency, a FIFA licensed player agency based in US with Rwanda's Emmanuel Tuyishimire as their scout brokered the deal for Nshuti on January 31.

This deal was not Nshuti's first foreign contract. He joined Tunisian outfit on July 21, 2018 but returned to APR FC a year later because things didn't go well.

Despite his lacklustre performance at club level, Nshuti was on good form in the national team.

He scored three goals, including the winner against Nigeria in Uyo as Rwanda lost the 2025 AFCON ticket to Benin on goal difference.

He was among the top performers in the AFCON qualifiers as opposing coaches such as Augustine Eguavoen appreciated his talent.

What is the next step of Nshuti?

The striker marketed himself well as far as Amavubi is concerned and that alone is a perfect avenue for him to be spotted by teams.

So far, South Africa's Marumo Gallants have expressed interest in him. Unconfirmed reports indicate that a host of clubs in Tunisia where he previously featured are on his heels.

One team which could potentially swoop for Nshuti is Yanga SC. The Tanzanian giants are looking for a striker and with their financial ability, they can go for the Rwanda striker.

Moreover, he could also stay in the 3rd League as his agency could work out something good for him.

A move to APR could not be totally ruled out. The Army Club need a goal scorer. With Mbaoma out if form and Mamadou Sy yet to adapt, Nshuti can fill the void. It could be Nshuti's third stint with the club since 2016.
