Eritrean musician Samuel Zerezghi will headline the ‘Christmas Groove’ event slated for Wednesday, December 25, at Crystal Lounge. It will be his first performance in Kigali.
The singer will be joined on stage by Rwanda's renowned band, Symphony, and vocalist Tabz who currently does her music in Nairobi, Kenya, where she resides.
The event, according to organizers, aims at connecting Eritrean and Rwandan music cultures, given the growing Eritrean community in Rwanda.
For organisers, it will be an opportunity for communities from both countries to exchange cultural values through music.

"The Rwanda and Eritrea share a lot in common and having Zerezghi alongside Rwandan artistes is a good platform that would create ties for creatives from both countries,” one of the organizers told The New Times.
"This is an explosive mix of talent to light up your holiday season. From soul-soothing vibes to all-night moves, we're taking Christmas to a whole new level on the rooftop of KABC,” he added.
Zerezghi is known for his contributions to traditional Eritrean folk music which is integral to various celebrations such as weddings and cultural events.
He will share a stage with Symphony Band, a Rwandan boy-band made of four former students from Nyundo School of Music. The band continues to be one of Rwanda’s top live bands that have worked with almost every big artiste in Rwanda.
Tabz, on the other hand, is a former member and vocalist of the Neptunez Band, who in 2020, launched a solo music career. She is eyeing a homecoming performance at the ‘Christmas Groove,’ two years after relocating to Kenya in 2022 to continue her studies.
The Christmas Groove event will take place at Crystal Lounge located at the rooftop of the KABC Building. Tickets will be available at the gate.
