Mulisa summons Iradukunda, Nkurunziza for South Sudan clash in Kigali

Simeon Iradukunda has joined Amavubi ahead of the upcoming second leg match against South Sudan.

Amavubi caretaker coach Jimmy Mulisa has handed call ups to Musanze FC's Felicien Nkurunziza and Police FC midfielder Simeon Iradukunda ahead of their CHAN 2024 qualifying second leg encounter against South Sudan at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday, December 28.

The duo will replace right-back Gilbert Byiringiro and defensive midfielder Pacifique Ngabonziza who are ruled out of the second leg crunch encounter through injuries.

Iradukunda has been in and out of Amavubi squad and he is yet to cement a regular place while Nkurunziza will be aiming to seize the opportunity and make his selection felt if given minutes against South Sudan in Kigali.

The Musanze FC defender has been in good form at club level. He netted the match winner for as Musanze beat Kiyovu 1-0 in a Rwanda Premier League match held at Kigali Pele Stadium on December 8.

Amavubi lost 3-2 in the first leg at Juba International Stadium and will need eliminate South Sudan in Kigali if they are to book a ticket to the CHAN finals which will take place in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from February 1-22.
