FASHION/STYLE:

If you’re looking to try out the latest trends that will compliment your looks without sacrificing a lot, consider fashionable bracelets.

Bracelets are the latest craze at the moment and they’re all over.

They are attention grabbers and can help to elevate your look to a great level. For example, if you are wearing a black dress match it with a white bead bracelet to top things off.

Depending on your style, personality and preference, there are plenty of bracelet options from which to choose in all fashion stores in town, at affordable prices.

Whether you like the romantic look or prefer to go with something a little more edgy, you can choose the right bracelets for you.

For a casual look and feel, it’s perfectly okay to throw on a beads bracelet with a pair of jeans and a hip top. Bracelets are even okay for the office when worn tastefully and in the appropriate size.

Stick to cool colours like turquoise, yellow and green stones. Pair with neutrals for a winning look that is sure to score points.

Bracelets, as a whole, are a bit of a female minefield. However, the belief is no more because men too, have embraced the trend.

News flash, any type of bracelet can compliment you as long as you know how to match it with your other accessories.

"Bracelets are hot and they have been there even before,” Joan Mutesi says.

Apparently, bracelets have all along been there in almost all societies across the world, and each bracelet had a different meaning according to that particular society.

In Rwanda, bracelets have also been around. The king used to wear a bracelet on his upper arm, and this symbolized supremacy and authority. Bracelets were also worn by warriors, which distinguished them from other ordinary Rwandans.

Bracelets are also famous among the Masai of Kenya and Tanzania, who wear them to signify their wealth.
Today, bracelets are modified into trendy accessories, and seem to be a must ‘wear accessory’ to all people.

Bracelets are integral part of the culture as well as fashion. Most women love wearing colourful bracelets that match their outfits. Some women wear their wrist watches along with a set of bracelets.

"Just like other accessories, bracelets are also equally necessary for any woman to finish the look,” Pamela Umutoni says.

However, Peter Kayitare warns that though most are obsessed with jewellery, they should avoid muddling things.

Adjustable to suit different tastes of people of all classes and age groups, bracelets are great jewellery items that add exquisite sparkle to the outfits. Bracelets can be made of gold, silver and beads.
