AS Kigali moved within two points of reigning champions APR after Thursday’s 2-1 win over Rayon Sport at Kicukiro artificial turf.

Angelique Mukeshimana scored city council’s goals in a match they clearly dominated but missed many goal scoring opportunities.

AS Kigali Coach Grace Nyiranumuntu now believes that three points from their game in hand against Aspej will have a huge bearing on who wins the title.

"We now know that a win over Aspej puts us in a good position so we have to do everything to try and win that game,” Nyiranumuntu reckoned.

APR still tops the league table with 37 points. AS Kigali are second on 35 points, two clear of Musanze who seem to have consolidated third place (33 points) following Thursday’s comprehensive 3-0 victory over Rubavu.
