Editor,
On my way to work this morning, I was excited by what I will call new developments by the police. Opposite the Ministry of Justice complex, were traffic police armed with a speed gun aimed at oncoming traffic.
This comes as a relief considering that one would be stopped for over speeding without any reliable way of measurement.
And, when a driver would contest the speed charge, he/she would be slapped another charge – "agasuzuguro”.
Now that the speed guns are available, the next step should be putting up visible road signs indicating the speed limits in the different areas so that speeding drivers do not play the "I did not know” charge when caught.
