Crisis-hit Kiyovu Sports Club rallied from behind to earn a point at Kigali Pele Stadium after a 1-1 draw against Gorilla FC on Sunday, December 15.
The result kept the Green Baggies at the bottom of the table with only two games left to close the first round of the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League campaign.
Kiyovu were handled by Ayubu Khaliru Sebarega and Deo Habiyaremye after head coach Joslin Bipfubusa left his job hours before the game over reasons reportedly linked with salary arrears that the club owes him.
It was a crunch game during which both teams proved their mettle with attacking approaches. Kiyovu's right back Karim Nizigiyimana was a delight to watch with his overlapping runs down the flanks which forced Gorilla FC to defend on various occasions.

Gorilla FC were leading the game at the break but Kiyovu looked much sharper and more purposeful upfront in the second half pushing for an equalizer.
After a continuous pressing, Olivier Twahirwa restored parity for Kiyovu with a fine finish in the 69th minute to make it 1-1.
The final 20 minutes of the game saw the pair looking for a match winner but neither of them managed to get it as the encounter ended 1-1.
