Rwandatel officially unveiled its new call centre facility worth Rwf1.2 billion as a way of improving service delivery.

The new facility which will not only allow easy handling of bigger volumes of calls is also available for Rwandatel’s partners for hire, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Patrick Kariningufu said.

"We are very proud to make this significant investment right in our own backyard.

Ensuring that each call is handled in a conducive environment is of a paramount concern to us,” Kariningufu said during the recent launch this week.

”This facility will allow us to continue our commitment to offer the best services to allow voice, Internet (VoIP) and data,” he added.

Kariningufu said that the facility has a seating capacity of 216 call center agents a day and is open 24 hours every day of the week.

It is also equipped with the latest technology to facilitate reporting of call traffic statistics and document logged complaints.

At the opening ceremony of the facility, the Minister in the President’s Office in Charge of Science and Technology, Romain Murenzi, applauded Rwandatel for the investment.

"For Rwanda to be the regional hub of Information Communication Technology (ICT) we need more of these facilities which help communication in the country a little bit easier,” Murenzi added.

Murenzi also said that with the third nation telecommunication operator starting its operations soon, clients need a company with well equipped facilities like the unveiled call centre.

He added that subscribers need a service provider with less call drops.

The new facility can also handle and manage both inbound and outbound tele-marketing calls once hired by Rwandatel’s clients.

Kariningufu also said that the Rwf1.2 billion was spent largely in building the facility and into training customer service agents.

Rwandatel is an integrated telecommunication solution provider.

Following the launch of its 3G GSM network in December 2008 it now provides voice and data communication solutions that include fixed telephony, mobile telephony, ISP and data communication.
