Play for Hope tournament kicks off

A two-day Play for Hope tournament got underway yesterday at Amahoro stadium. According to the in-charge of the tournament, Brian Beckman, the tournament is aimed at bringing children, schools kids, church kids and street kids together with the aim of interacting and giving them hope of the future.

A two-day Play for Hope tournament got underway yesterday at Amahoro stadium. According to the in-charge of the tournament, Brian Beckman, the tournament is aimed at bringing children, schools kids, church kids and street kids together with the aim of interacting and giving them hope of the future.

"We want to bring people of all sections of society together to enjoy sports and learn to interact,” Beckman said, adding that the tourney is used to promote the Hope Festival.

The event is open to two-age categories; U-15 and U-20
Play for Hope is a partnership of Rwandans and Americans whose purpose is to use sports to bring holistic ministry to children and to develop sports within Rwanda.

The dream of a collaborative team of Rwandans and Americans is devoted to using sports to better Rwandan society.  They are comprised of basketball and soccer players, coaches, fitness professionals, and medical professionals. 

Play for Hope is hosting the tournament in collaboration with Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, Hope Rwanda and Africa new Life Ministries.
