Rosy

UWISHEMA Roselyne, whose stage name is ROSY, was born in Rwamagana.

She did her Primary school in the same area and completed her Secondary school at Kabarondo where she studied Human Sciences. She is in now at National University of Rwanda.

So, how did this lady go into music? Rosy says that she had always dreamed of becoming a musician.

She used to watch music videos of the likes of Cline Dion, Tony Braxton, Mariah Carey and many more.

The fact that she was in her Primary school choir and later joined the traditional dance group in Secondary helped shape her towards her dream. Her first song was ‘Birthday’.

It’s at University that she met the manager of Ubuntu Studio. With Ally Soudi, a presenter on Radio Salus and a member of Les Testamant group, Rosy sung "Umunsi ku munsi” and lately ‘Witinya”. Both songs are enjoying fair airplay on local radio stations.
