KHARTOUM, SUDAN - Sudan’s Premier League side Al-Neer Fc who signed a contract with Atraco winger Joseph Kabagambe ten days ago have promised to take the matter to Fifa if they don’t get the player or their $10,000 (Rwf5.7 million) sign-on fee.

The Ugandan winger, who disappeared from Khartoum last week after the Al-Neer officials wanted him to return the sign-on fee is reportedly already in Kampala after finding his way through Juba and leaving his passport with the Atraco officials.

"We are going to discuss with the Rwanda Football Federation and if we fail then take the matter to Fifa. We cannot accept to loose out like this,” said Al-Neer official Murtada Muhammad Ahmed.

The player told Times Sport days before he vanished that there is no way he will return to Kigali because he needs to move on since his contract is also about to expire.

To sign the six month contract with Al-Neer, Kabagambe forged a release letter from Atraco but this was discovered after the player had been paid the sign-on fee.

However, Atraco club vice president Issa Ngenzi said they are willing to release the Ugandan player but the Sudanese side must pay more money. "Al-Neer have to be more serious and pay us more than the $5,000 (Rwf2.8 million) they are ready to pay,” said   

The Rwanda Football Association (Ferwafa) vice president Vedaste Kayiranga said Atraco should release the player because he is so undisciplined. "They should let him go,” said Kayiranga yesterday.
