Iradukunda set for pro trials in Portugal

Mukura Victory Sports winger Elie Tatou Iradukunda will leave Kigali on Monday, December 9, for trials with Portuguese Primeira Liga side Sporting Club Braga.

Iradukunda, 18, will train with the Braga U19 team for a week and, should he pass the trials, he could be offered to sign for the club when the January 2025 transfer window opens.

"Elie (Tatou) is moving to SC Braga in Portugal for one-week trials as they hope to assess him for a potential move in the January transfer window," Mukura VS Managing Director, Protais Musoni, confirmed to Times Sport.

The youngster had an impressive 2023/24 season for Mukura Victory Sports, scoring 6 goals and went on win the Rwanda Premier League young player of the season award.

Iradukunda has previously been a target for a host of Belgian top tier clubs including Gent although he failed to secure a reasonable offer.

He becomes the fourth Rwandan youngster to leave for a Portuguese club on trials in the space of one week after Tony Football Excellence trio Jean Claude Dushime, Alain Fiston Ishimwe and Erirohe Yangiriyeneza moved to Rio Ave.
