FASHION/STYLE: An organised wardrobe is a timesaver

“Show me how you’re dressed, I’ll tell you how your wardrobe is”. Its 1:00 am, the time I’m supposed to be at the office. But I’ve failed, because I’m still searching for the appropriate attire to wear.

"Show me how you’re dressed, I’ll tell you how your wardrobe is”. Its 1:00 am, the time I’m supposed to be at the office. But I’ve failed, because I’m still searching for the appropriate attire to wear.

If you are like most people, at some point in your life, you have felt totally frustrated staring into a wardrobe full of clothes unable to find a single thing you want to wear.

However, if this is an ongoing problem you encounter, it time to change before it turns into a habit . "I really hate my wardrobe. It’s so disorganized and it makes me sick whenever I open it”, Anita Uwase said.

She confesses that it embarrasses and makes her dizzy whenever she is searching for an outfit to wear. "I’m planning to fix time and organise it one of these days so that I don’t have a billion things crammed in there.”

This weakness is not associated with girls only, some men too, will testify that they do not care about their wardrobes, calling it a woman’s responsibility to organise the entire house, including the wardrobes and shoe-racks.

Andrew Kalisa says, "My wardrobe is a disaster zone. I am trying to radically improve it. I started last night. I still have a long way to go but so far it is going very well.”

"On a bad day, I’ll waste almost 30 minute searching for what to wear.”

The problem of having lots of clothes, none of which are suitable to wear is because of poor wardrobe setting.

An organised wardrobe boosts your dressing style. You can wake up to a closet that inspires you to get dressed simply by following the arrangement.

Dresses, jackets, coats and shirts should all be hugged accordingly. T-shirts and tops should be folded on shelves.

How can you overcome a messed up wardrobe? If you are anything like most people, your wardrobe will be a bit of a messy affair.
Getting ahead to organise your wardrobe is the easiest and most enjoyable practice.

The first step is to know which items give you the freedom to wear, and which one suits well.

Start this task when you have lots of energy and at least the day to do it should be a weekend. Begin by removing everything from your closet. Eliminate all the old wire hangers and replace them with plastic ones.

Arrange the wardrobe according to the colours. This way you will be able to find what colours match well.

Throw away anything that is worn-out, badly stained or unfit to wear and remain with only the clothing items you will like to wear to create enough space in the wardrobe.

It’s also very important to be conscious when shopping. Don’t buy items because you have the desire, but ask yourself why before you waste your money on it.
