As a regular reader of The New Times paper, I have learnt that the country is privileged to host the Connect Africa summit and a number of African presidents are going to attend. This is good news for us all.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has to be embraced and given priority if Africans, particularly Rwandans are to break the yoke of poverty.

ITC is an engine for socio-economic development and indeed our government has registered tremendous efforts in this area. With ICT, agriculture and businesses will be boosted to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

With the development of ICT, Rwandans will become job creators other than job seekers and inevitably people’s standards of living will improve. Let’s utilize this golden chance to revamp the economy.
