Kiyovu SC winger Djuma Nizeyimana is optimistic that the club will be out of the relegation zone of the Rwandan Premier League (RPL) after enduring an abysmal start to the season.
Kiyovu is currently sitting at the bottom of the league table, having lost seven games, drawn one and won just two out of the 10 it has played.
The team&039;s next game is against Musanze FC on Saturday, December 8, and it will be seeking to earn three points to ease the pressure.

"It is a hard time for the club and everyone who has a connection to it, but we have to fight as men and try our best to win many matches,” Nizeyimana said.
"It is a shame to be in this place as Kiyovu. If we don’t fight, we can be relegated. Our team is not bad. We all know that it is a battle we have to fight to keep the team in the topflight," he added

In 2017, the Mumena-based side suffered relegation for the first time in their 53-year history but miraculously returned to the topflight division without kicking a ball in the second division. This was after Isonga FC, a team which had been promoted to the topflight rejected the opportunity.
"We have to win all our remaining games to be safe. For me, I see this weekend game as the turning point,” Nizeyimana said.
