Rayon Sports on Friday, December 6, confirmed that tickets for their crunch derby with fierce rivals APR FC at 45,000-seater Amahoro Stadium were sold out.
The club announced the development more than 24 hours before kickoff.
Tickets were sold in various categories: Regular Upper and Lower at Rwf 3,000, VIP at Rwf 20,000, VVIP at Rwf 50,000, Executive Seats at Rwf 100,000, and Sky Box tickets at Rwf 1,000,000.
The swift ticket sales are set to generate revenues in excess of Rwf 173.5 million, a significant boost for the club which has been grappling for resources to run its activities. This amount, combined with Rwf 50 million received from sponsors ahead of the game, makes the derby one of the most lucrative football events in the team’s history.
Rayon Sports currently lead the league with 29 points from 11 matches, 11 clear of fifth-placed APR FC who have played two games less.
