Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has confirmed the arrest of Maj Gen (Rtd) Richard Rutatina and 10 of his farm employees following investigations into an assault on a person on his orders.

The victim of the alleged assault had spent a night at Rutatina's farm located in Murundi Sector, Kayonza District on a visit to one of the employees. This incident happened on November 27.

"The victim is currently recovering from the hospital," RIB spokesperson Thierry Murangira said.

He added that file of all the suspects would be submitted to the Prosecution on Friday, December 06.

Murangira urged the public to always call authorities in cases of illegal activties instead of taking matters into their own hands.
