Given our busy and tedious days at work, others from school, we always find ourselves saving the fun for Friday night, Saturday during the day and the night and the chilling on  Sunday afternoons, usually going for a swim, sight seeing or sometimes a food binge; consuming the burgers, the fries, the beef and the chicken. 

Many of us don’t know about the night life that goes on around our city because we are used to ‘our’ having fun as going to some place where we go with the kids so they can play for example the new bambino city in Kabuga.

Many guys go for their own fun at house parties and others to eating places like the bourbon coffee shops, but here is the real deal, there are guys who have been out there and have got to experience the real deal of fun so, allow me to introduce you to a world that you have most probably heard of but haven’t experienced hoping that at the end, you will be able to close your eyes and imagine the experience.  

So, I guess I will start with the places here in our very own Kigali that have night revelers thronging and I guess we have the A-listers that come at the top because of the crowd that they receive and I guess every body is thinking, Cadillac.

Well, yeah it qualifies for the position but it’s not the only one on that list, we also have sky hotel that’s intriguing with its kimansulo (strip dancing), those who didn’t know about it, I got you. Not forgetting, we have Pasadena and now, the New Black and White club at Alpha Palace hotel and many others that are out there.  

At around nine o’clock, all sorts of people start moving in the direction of these night clubs, starting with the zeyis (older guys and chics) who don’t belong there, down to the young ones who escape from home and enter the clubs with fake IDs.

The dress code, I cannot really tell I guess it could be the less the better because the less clothes a chic has on, the smarter and appropriately dressed she will be, but thank God most of our girls here are still morally upright and we haven’t had girls showing up in French knickers and bras or g or t-strings.  

Different people go with different agendas, there are those who go purely for the fun, they just want to have some fun and dance around, there are those who go just because of their peer pressure, there are those who go for the adventure, these are usually the first timers whose excitement is all over them you can pick them out from the crowd and believe me you, these are usually underage and this is like a mighty adventure for.

Let’s not forget those friends of ours who are looking for someone to sink their claws into for dime (money), the de-toothers who lay in wait for the wealthy guys in club to exploit and twirl them around their fingers while emptying their pockets.

They are willing to do anything to get their hands on money that they have not worked for.  

I happened to come across one girl, pardon me but I refrain myself from calling her a lady, she  tricked her friends into going out with her only to take them to a house where they found guys who lay in wait to pay them for sexual intercourse, she was willing to sacrifice her friends just because she was being offered a lot of money for the services she would render and extra cash for the other girls she had brought not even caring that she would lose her friends in the process as long as she got her hands on the cash.  

In the club, people go wild letting go of their moral restraints under the influence of alcohol that acts as a relaxant to many people who get courage to pull those invincible dance strokes on the dance floor with competition between the females and males for the hottest chics and dudes and sometimes ending up in fights and others being thrown out before their times is due.

It is a whole different world in there as people have a hearty time. Where there are strippers, it is a whole different world as the strippers shake their bodies and build a whole different kind of fire that storms the crowd.

Unfortunately, according to the law, it all ends too soon at two o’clock with some sleeping outside the clubs others walking home and fist fights between prostitutes as they fight for their clientele.
