APR had failed to qualify for the continental competition after finishing in third place at the Zone V qualifiers in Zanzibar in November before FIBA Africa gifted them a wildcard to take part in the competition. They will join REG women who landed an automatic ticket after finishing as runners-up in the same qualifiers.
Mushumba’s side has been carrying out daily training drills at Lycee de Kigali gymnasium. They leave for Dakar on Tuesday night where they will continue preparations for the tournament.
"We are doing the final training and the players are doing fine,” Mushumba told Times Sport.
