ELIAS Uzamukunda a.k.a baby is on the verge of completing his move to France’s second division side Nantes.
The striker flew to Paris on Tuesday for a medical but according to his uncle and agent Aimable Twahirwa; Uzamukunda has already joined the rest of Nantes teammates for pre-season training.
"He arrived safely and is even expected to start pre-season training with the club today (yesterday),” Twahirwa said.
The APR striker, one of Rwanda’s top performers at the U-20 CAN championships could pass the medical but APR president Brig. Gen. Alex Kagame insists that the move is far from done.
"He (Uzamukunda) will have his medical test but that does not mean that his transfer deal has been finalised.
"We are yet to receive Nantes’ final response on the deal so we should have the player back once he is through with the medical until the two clubs have reached an agreement,” APR club president Brig. Gen. Alex Kagame said recently.
Uzamukunda passed professional trials back in February with the French side, who were relegated from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2.
