During the vibrant opening event of the new branch, Gerard Ntambara, the Branch Manager, expressed his enthusiasm for the spacious new location, which will enable them to provide improved services to customers.
"Our goal is to provide customer service that puts people first. We&039;ve relocated to the main road to enhance our visibility and make it more convenient for our valued customers, especially those who previously traveled to Sonatube from nearby areas, including the market. We are recognized for our innovations and digital services, allowing customers to access banking wherever they are, or visit our branch if they prefer."

One of the first beneficiaries of the new branch is Theoneste Nizeyimana,28, an MTN mobile agent who has worked in front of the BRGD Plaza building for the past two years.
He shared with The New Times that he transacted over 3.5 million Rwandan Francs since morning and expressed past concern about the risks of carrying large sums of money over long distances.
"I don’t know how to express my excitement about this new branch. I used to travel long distances to get cash floats, but now I can just walk in and complete transactions. It has made my work so much easier. This morning, I bought a cash float of 1,830,000 Rwf and returned in the afternoon with 2,000,000. This is my third visit, and if I had to travel far for this, it wouldn’t have been easy, especially with concerns about the security of my money."
Olivier Mutwaranyi, who runs businesses near Kicukiro market, highlighted that they previously had to travel to town or the Remera branch to access Ecobank's services.
"In my daily transactions, I always rely on Ecobank. The new branch will address security concerns and is conveniently located near Kicukiro market, which is great for traders and the local community. Ecobank has done a great job by bringing their services closer to us."
On the other hand, Michel Basabose, also a customer, praised the new branch building, noting its remarkable improvements over the former Sonatube location. He highlighted that its opening aligns perfectly with the area's rapid infrastructure development, making it easier and faster for them as customers to access services.
Emmanuel Maboneza, the Head of Commercial Banking and Branch network at Ecobank emphasized that Ecobank's greatest asset is its customers. "Our commitment is to bring services closer to them and continue empowering their growth. In the near future, we are focusing on expanding to remote areas like Musanze and Rubavu, where there is a strong demand for our services.
