Kepler dominated East African University (EAU) in three straight sets (25-18, 25-11, 25-22) in a match that unfolded at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium on Saturday, November 30.
The first set saw Kepler come out strong, asserting early dominance with precise attacks and capitalizing on EAU’s unforced errors. Despite a valiant effort from EAU to close the gap, Kepler held on to claimed it 25-18.
Kepler maintained the momentum in the second set as they built on their top performance in the first set. Their powerful serves and disciplined defensive formations put EAU on the back foot, allowing Kepler to take the set 25-11.
However, EAU showed some flashes of their potential, keeping the rallies competitive and refusing to back down.
The third set was a nail-biting affair, with the tension palpable in every point. Both teams pushed their limits, delivering thrilling rallies and tactical plays.
In the end, Kepler’s composure, made the difference as they edged EAU 25-22 in a dramatic finish, to secure the win in style.

In other games, Rwanda Polytechnic Ngoma (RP-Ngoma) lost to Gisagara VC in three straight sets (20-25, 14-25, 22-25) in a match dominated by Gisagara’s superior teamwork and attacking efficiency.
Meanwhile, Police and Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) squared off in a highly competitive encounter that kept fans on edge, with Police coming out on top to claim the victory in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13).
In the earlier games, in women’s category, RP-Huye fell short against Ruhango VC, losing 0-3 (10-25, 17-25, 15-25), EAU and Kepler faced off in a closely contested match that highlighted promising talent from both sides, with Kepler ultimately prevailing 3-1 (24-25, 25-219, 25-19, 25-20).
Action continues on Sunday, December 1, where, in women’s category, Ruhango VC face RP-Huye and APR will go head-to-head against East African University (EAU).
Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) will take on RP-Ngoma as APR take on East African University (EAU) in what promises to be another thrilling day of volleyball.
