Kigali was ranked as the second most liveable and investable city in Africa by the Africa Report, a pan-African media platform, and Jeune Afrique, a French-language pan-African weekly news magazine, on November 28.

It was the first-ever ranking of Africa’s 30 most attractive cities, assessing factors such as urban planning, infrastructure, quality of life, and business appeal.

The ranking draws on extensive reader surveys and foreign direct investment data to evaluate urban planning, infrastructure, and business opportunities.

Kigali was lauded for its cleanliness, safety, and innovation.

Cape Town secured the top spot for its stunning landscapes, vibrant economy, and cultural offerings, with Johannesburg placed third, and Casablanca, Rabat, and Nairobi completing the top five. The ranking highlights cities excelling in liveability and economic potential.

In July, Kigali was also ranked as the third favourite African city for travellers by the World’s Best Awards survey by the travel publication Travel Leisure.
