Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) women’s volleyball team will go head to head with rivals APR on Friday, November 27, at 2pm in what promises to be a tight match at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium.
RRA have not lost any of their last three matches in the 2024/25 national volleyball league and they will be aiming to aim to beat reigning champions APR to not only extend their unbeaten streak but also move at the summit of the standings.
Currently, APR are in second place on the standings with 10 points, trailing league leaders Police Volleyball Club, while RRA closely follows in third place with 9 points, having won all three of their previous matches.
This game holds a real weight as both teams aim to solidify their positions and assert their dominance early in the season.
RRA captain Olive Nzamukosha is aware of the challenge that APR may bring to her team but warned that they have a strategy to overcome them.
"We have faced APR WVC not once; we are ready to challenge APR to secure our fourth win. This win is crucial for us to rise in the standings and take the lead,” Nzamukosha told Weekend Sport.

Nzamukosha inherited the captaincy at the tax collectors, taking over from Lizzy Gasekgonwe who crossed over to APR before the start of this season.
She acknowledged the impact of Gasekgonwe’s departure but emphasized that RRA has adapted and grown stronger as a unit.
"It’s true, in the previous season, we had Lizzy as the captain, and now she has switched to our opponent team. But it doesn’t threaten us,” she said.
"We have rebuilt our tactical system and introduced new faces into the squad. Both Lizzy and APR will be surprised to see what they didn’t expect from us.”
The pair’s last meeting was during the Genocide Memorial Tournament earlier this year when APR beat RRA 3-0 in the final and Nzamukosha said that the team has learned valuable lessons from that defeat.
"We’ve analysed that game and worked on our weaknesses. This time, we are prepared not just physically but also mentally. Our vision is to win the 2024/25 trophy, no matter what. We want this season’s title to be crowned for RRA.”
