Rwanda to host maiden WABA Supreme Boxing Championships

Rwanda will host its first-ever professional WABA Supreme boxing championships on December 8, 2024.

The event, organized by Universal Boxing Champion (UBC) in partnership with Kigali Universe and Sports Genix International (SGI), will feature two title fights alongside several undercard bouts.

According to Guy Didier Ruranganyire, the founder of SGI-Sports Academy, and one of the Rwanda’s leading boxing promoters, the event is sanctioned by the World Alliance Boxing Association (WABA).

In the main event, Swedish boxer Sanda Attermo will face Rwanda’s Ange Nsengiyumva for the WABA Supreme World Super Bantamweight Championship.

The co-main event will see Rwanda’s Vincent Nsengiyumva take on Uganda’s Vincent Manguso for the vacant WABA Supreme Africa Light Heavyweight Title.

The fight card will also include six supporting bouts. They are scheduled as follows:

Kassa Hans (Rwanda) vs Musa Ntege (Uganda)

Aimable Hagenimana(Rwanda) vs Joshina Lumunya (Uganda)

Pacifique Niyonzima (Rwanda) vs Matthias Maciano (Uganda)

Hassani Murenzi (Rwanda) vs Abubakar Amin (Uganda)

Patrick Ndayishimiye (Rwanda) vs Henry Kasozi (Uganda)
