Khartoum, Sudan - ATRACO’s Ugandan coach Sam Timbe has warned that it will be a different ball game when he lines up his troops against Uganda’s KCC on Wednesday.

The Rwandan league champions secured their quarter-final berth at the on-going Cecafa-Kagame Club Championships in Khartoum after Saturday’s 5-0 win over Djibouti’s Kartileh.

Even after losing their opening ties against El Merreikh (6-1) and Mahare United (2-1), Saturday’s victory made sure that the taxi-men side squeezed through as one of two best finishers. Burundi’s Inter Stars secured the other slot.

"We struggled to qualify for the quarter finals, but we are going to give our all against KCC,” said Timbe, who won the trophy with Ugandan sides SC Villa in 2005 and Police FC in 2006.

Asked if Atraco’s Ugandan players would play a crucial part in the tie, Timbe insisted that the whole team would have to come to the fore.

Timbe also admitted that it would be tough playing KCC who had a clean run at the group stage. "KCC come into the tie with great confidence but one thing about knock-out games is that the best prepared team on the day usually goes through,” he added.

With Joseph Kabagame busy sorting out his move to Al-Neer of Sudan, Hamis Kitagenda and Abed Mulenda who have netted four goals between themselves will lead Atraco’s attack.

Although KCC finished their group campaign with a superior goal aggregate of seven after scoring 11 and only letting in four, head coach George Nsimbe has cautioned the team against complacency.

"Teams who struggle at the group stage can be so dangerous when they get to the knock-out stage so we have to be very careful,” warned the former Uganda Cranes international.

In today’s quarter-final ties, El Merreikh battle Inter Stars of Burundi while TP Mazembe of DR Congo takes on Sudan’s Hay Al-Arab.
