Rwandan siblings bag bronze at 11th Commonwealth Karate Championships

Team Rwanda’s trio of Harifa Niyitanga, Sharifu Dushime, and Sidike Niyonkuru, on Thursday, November 28, bagged bronze – together with Australia – in the team kata competition category at the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2024, in Durban, South Africa.

India and England won gold and silver, respectively.

The three brothers are part of a Rwandan squad of five set to do battle in different individual and team fighting [Kumite] competition categories starting Friday. The team left Kigali on Wednesday night heading to Durban, to take part in the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championships running from November 28 to December 2.
