Editor,
I would like to express my deepest disappointment over the new MTN internet charging system.
Before, with a USB dial-up modem, you used to pay a flat fee of FRW 20,000 per month.
Since switching to a new system whereby you pay for kilobytes up/down-loaded the same amount of money that once lasted me an entire month, now lasts me around one day (27 hours verses 672 hours).
It is now cheaper for me to use an internet café than for me to access the internet at home.
Surely this is a step backwards for the internet age? I am amazed that MTN have chosen to under-sell their customers to such an extent and I for one, will no longer be giving them any more of my money.
I hope that customers will vote with their wallets and help promote greater access to the internet for all, not just for those who can afford such extortionate rates.
