SC Kiyovu have dismissed reports that the club is plotting a reunion with their former Ugandan coach Jackson Mayanja.

Now with Bunamwaya Fc in the Uganda Super League, it was recently quoted in the Uganda media that Mayanja had turned down an offer to return to Kiyovu.

The former Ugandan international, currently suspended by Bunamwaya said that Kiyovu is out of the question.

"I can’t go out of the country now because I still have things to do,” Mayanja remarked. I hope to return to Bunamwaya,” Mayanja was quoted saying.

However, Kiyovu president Benjamin Gasamagera has responded to the reports by denying knowledge of whatever has been reported.

"We have never been tempted to bring back Mayanja. We are re-organising our club and we feel comfortable with the current structures,” Gasamagera highlighted.

Mayanja took over as Kiyovu head coach back in 2004 but after a mediocre two-year spell, he returned to Uganda where he joined KCC.

During his two-year stint at Kiyovu, he guided the club to the Inaugural Lotto Cup and a fourth spot finish in the league.

Mayanja crossed to Bunamwaya at the beginning of 2008/09 spurring the team to impressive wins but was recently suspended towards the end of the season after a run of poor results.
