Cape Verdean side Kriol Star has been awarded a wild card to compete in the Road to BAL East Division Elite 16 in Nairobi, Kenya, FIBA Africa announced on Sunday.
The eight-team qualifier tournament for the BAL 2025 season will take place at Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 28 to December 3.
Rwandan small forward Dieudonné Ndizeye played for Kriol Star in the earlier stages of the qualifiers that took place in October in Tripoli, Libya.

Participating teams in the East Division Elite 16 include home team Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya), Urunani Basket Club (Burundi), City Oilers (Uganda), Bravehearts (Malawi), Matero Magic (Zambia), MMB (South Africa), Fox Basketball (South Sudan), Kriol Star (Cape Verde).
The eight participating teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each and will compete in a round-robin system.
The teams which will finish in the top two places of each group will advance to the semi-finals whose winners qualify for the BAL season 5.
