Gorilla FC left back Eric Rutanga is optimistic that his team will bounce back to the summit of the Rwanda Premier League by beating Rayon Sports on Sunday, November 23 at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
Gorilla FC is currently in second place on the league table with 18 points, while Rayon Sports is first with 20 points.

The two teams’ rivalry is rising characterised by some past games that left Rayon Sports stunned by Gorilla FC. For instance, in 2023, Gorilla FC beat Rayon Sports 3-1, a result that saw the blues lose the title to their main rival APR FC.
The last meeting between Rayon Sports and Gorilla FC ended 1-0 in favour of the blues.
"We will be aiming to win the game. If things don’t turn out the way we expect, it will be bad for us because we want to stay in the title race. We have a marathon until the end of the league, and on Sunday we will play for three points.” Rutanga said.
