Muhazi United are bent on securing their first win over APR FC in 9 years when the two teams square off in Rwanda Premier League at Kigali Pele Stadium on Saturday, November 23.

Coached by Emmanuel Ruremesha, the Rwamagana-based club has not beaten the Rwandan champions in their last six attempts dating back to October 17, 2015, having lost 5 times and drawn once.

Muhazi, once accustomed to finishing the season below the middle half, is bent on causing an upset this time round. They want to inflict a second defeat on the Rwandan champions who recently lost 3-0 to Gorilla FC on forfeit due to exceeding the foreign player limit in a single game.

This season, Muhazi United looks stronger than previous years. They have acquired veteran striker Samson Babuwa who already has 3 goals to his name so far this season.

Their team looks much stronger and they are bent on going all out against APR. New club skipper Joseph Sackey who has been instrumental in defensive midfield churning out fantastic performance in all the games he has played promise to be vital in the game.

Sackey told Times Sport that his club is out to break their winless streak against the army club.

"Our match against APR is a big game, because they’re a very good team, so we’re also going to match them equally," Sackey told Weekend Sport.

"It is going to be easy for us if we do our things right on the pitch. My expectation is for us to win and it depends on game tempo and that will highlight the results. It is not an easy game at all."

Muhazi United are 9th on the table with 10 points having won 2 games, drawn 4 and lost 3 while APR are 12th with 8 points from five games.

While APR’s attack has been blunt this season as they have struggled to score goals, Muhazi United have been relying on their compact midfield with Sackey and Aminu Mohammed leading the zone while striker Samson Babuwa has been vibrant.

It will be interesting to see how both teams fare against each other as they both have different weaknesses.
