The excitement is palpable as the Rwanda Athletics Federation prepares to host the 2024 National Track and Field Series on November 23-24 at the ultra-modern Amahoro Stadium.
A total of 1,117 athletes from 12 athletics teams have confirmed their participation at the annual track and field event.

The registered participants will be representing various team across the country including APR, Police, Sina Gerard, GS St Aloys, Nyaruguru, Rutsiro, Nyamasheke, Huye, Kinyinya, Kavumu, Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, and Bose Wongeraho A.C.
They will compete in a variety of events across men’s, women’s, and youth categories.
The two-day event promises a thrilling display of athleticism, with the nation’s top athletes pushing their limits to land medals in different categories.
The National Track and Field Series will feature fierce competition in multiple athletic disciplines, including running, jumping, and throwing events. This wide range of activities highlights the depth of talent within Rwanda’s athletics community and offers a platform for athletes of all levels to showcase their skills.
The series will feature sprints, middle-distance, and long-distance races, each offering exciting challenges for competitors. In the sprints, the 100m, 200m, and 400m races will see a combined total of over 200 participants.
These fast-paced events will surely captivate the audience as athletes race for the top spot in the shortest distances.
For those with endurance, the middle-distance events, such as the 800m and 1500m, will feature nearly 200 competitors from both men’s and women’s categories. These races will test the athletes' stamina, pacing, and tactical skills.
Meanwhile, the long-distance races, including the 3000m, 5000m, and 10,000m, will feature some of Rwanda’s most elite endurance athletes, each determined to push their limits and secure victory.
Athletes will also compete in a variety of field events including the long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, and javelin will see over 200 athletes battling for top honors.
Team spirit and coordination will be at the forefront in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, with a total of 104 entries across various age groups. The relays offer athletes a chance to shine in a team environment, combining speed, strategy, and teamwork to achieve success.
