NYAMASHEKE—A group of 53 health counselors from Bushenge sector in Nyamasheke District over the weekend paid tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide at Gashirabwoba Genocide Memorial site.

Peter Claver Iyamuremye, who heads the group, castigated the former regime for promoting ethnic hatred among Rwandans which caused the Genocide.

The counselors also donated Rwf 570,000 towards the One dollar campaign. "It’s really saddening and a shame to us as Rwandans to see that many of our compatriots were killed innocently. I appeal to everybody to always reflect on this loss while fighting against genocide ideology and ethnic divisions,” Iyamuremye said.
