Otada was the last born in his family of seven. He was the only boy and his parents were so proud and fond of him.

From a very early age, people started seeing signs of greatness in him. This was from the way he conducted and distinguished himself from his friends.

While other children were fighting at school, he would stop them and make peace. He was always an example to all his peers and even to other older children. This made his teachers love Otada so much.

At home, being the youngest he was always teased by his elder sisters but this did not stop him from helping them.

During his father’s absence, Otada would organise everything at home, tend to the garden and look after the cows and everything that a man would do at home.

His father was never worried when he left him in charge.
One day when Otada was 15 years old, a lion attacked their cows at night and killed his favourite cow.

This hurt him so much such that he decided to follow the trail of blood until he found the lion where it was hiding. He killed it with his spear and came back with its head.

The entire village was happy and they respected Otada. The elders of the village ordained him the youngest chief of their land.

From that time, his new title did not allow him to sleep in the house anymore but outside with the cows protecting them just like all the elders and chief did.

This made him feel more responsible and all other children of his age looked up to him.

Otada grew old and he was the bravest person in their village. He was in charge of protecting their village and groomed many who found inspiration in him.
