Rwanda international Yannick Mukunzi has signed a one-year contract extension with Swedish second tier side Sandviken IF.
Mukukunzi has been out of action for Sanviken since August 30 when he sustained a knee injury during a training session.
His current deal was due to expire on November 30 but the club has now extended his stay in a deal which will see him play for them until November 2025.
"A leader, a fighter, a specialist in the midfield. Yannick Mukunzi is ready to play his sixth season at Sandvikens IF,” the club posted on their social media on Thursday, November 14.
Mukunzi, 29, is yet to recover from his injury. After signing the deal, the Rwandan defensive midfielder said he was happy "to be part of the team again. I am ready to give my best" in what is going to be his sixth season at the club.
Mukunzi has been playing for Sandvikens IF since 2019, when he moved from Rayon Sports.
