Rwanda head coach Frank Spittler has criticized his players for wasting goal scoring chances that could have turned the match the other way round before suffering a shock 1-0 loss to Libya in Kigali on Thursday, November 14.

Libya’s Al Mesmary came from the bench to score an 84th minute winner as the visitors shocked Rwanda on their own turf in a result that not only proved to be a big blow for the AFCON qualification but also confirmed a ticket for the Super Eagles to Morocco before facing Benin in Abidjan on Thursday evening.
Reflecting on the game, Spittler said that Rwanda dominated possession and created numerous chances but lacked the finishing touch to convert them.
"We played well, created plenty of chances, but I can’t score goals myself, claimed the German coach. "My job is to prepare the players, but on the field, they have to put the ball in the net.”
Spittler acknowledged the ups and downs in football, noting that "a good team must know how to get results even on bad days.”
With the defeat, Amavubi’s aspirations of returning to the AFCON tournament after a two-decade absence are now hanging by a thread, leaving fans hoping for a turnaround in the remaining qualifying match against the Super Eagles in Uyo on November 18
