UNR Grizzlies kept pressuer on champions and league leaders Buffaloes with a 24-15 win over Sharks.

The National University of Rwanda side grabbed four tries in the opening twenty minutes from Alain Muhire and Stephan Mutasa but Sharks’ François Mbarushimana, who was also their star player, reduced the deficit with three tries.

Robert Mugabo gave the visitors the lead after grabbing two penalties.

But their lead was short-lived because Grizzlies, who were enjoying a lot of home support, came back in the second half with renewed determination as fly-half Ignace Nsanzimana made two conversions and a penalty to seal an important victory.

Buffaloes top the league standing with 28 points, five ahead of UNR Grizzlies in second place. Sharks are third with 16 points.

Lion de Fers are still the record holders with three titles.
