Editor,
It may be of interest to your readers, that Specialist without Borders is conducting a medical education seminar for African doctors at the Serena Kigali from Wednesday July 8 - Thursday, July 9 and then facilitating a science and research day at the same venue on Friday July the 10th.

Specialists without Borders is an organization which has as its primary aim developing medical education into areas of need.

An affiliation with the National University of Rwanda/Medical School in Butare and Flinders University/medical centre in Adelaide Australia, allowed the establishment of a memorandum of understanding, and the request from the medical school to have a seminar on "medical and surgical emergencies’.

16 medical specialists from different parts of the world, each experts in their specialty, will be all sharing their expertise and clinical experience in this seminar, sponsored by Specialists without Borders, --which will provide specific updates on topics selected by the faculty at the medical school.

14 of the consultants/specialists are staying on for a second week to teach the medical students in the medical school at Butare.

They will also be conducting individual teaching seminars at both CHUB and the King Faisal hospital’s, after which they will also accompany the medical specialists down to Butare where they will teach the nurses.

Most of us will be arriving on July the fifth and staying at the Serena Kigali.
