Bizimana calls for Rwandans’ support ahead of Libya clash

Amavubi captain Djihad Bizimana has urged Rwandans to rally behind their team ahead of Thursday’s crunch AFCON 2025 qualifying match against Libya.

Rwanda will host Libya on November 14 at Amahoro Stadium before facing Nigeria on November 18.

Bizimana said Rwanda has reached a stage where the win is not just the team’s responsibility, appealing for support from the home crowd and push the players during the upcoming clash against Libya.

"We call on everybody to come and back the team. Come to support us and they won't regret it," Bizimana said.

"Though we shall be doing our work on the pitch on Thursday, your (fans) support would be paramount in ensuring that we put them (Libya) under so much pressure,” he added.

Rubavu-born further added that nothing that will stop Amavubi from securing maximum points from ‘a must-win game’ against Nigeria.

"I hope we can do all we can to win this game which can boost our chances of qualifying for the AFCON 2025 finals,” he further noted.

"The Libya fixture is a must-win game and I’m sure if we win, it will give us extra confidence for the entire campaign to the Africa Nations’ Cup qualifications. We are here to give our best for the team,” he noted.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026. Cote d&039;Ivoire are the defending champions having won the previous edition on home soil in February 2024.
