May it please you fans of our local entertainment, when you flagged off the Rwandan music, you promised all the support. Your example was quickly emulated by a number of Rwandan people who also made pledges to our young musicians. These musicians are here today to make good their pledge.
 
But before I introduce them to you, what can I say to put in perspective the achievement of those wonderful Rwandans that we celebrate these days? I could, but will not, tell you that Rwandans participate in many award competitions.

These musicians ensured that proud tradition was not broken. That despite the wonderful contribution of our underground to music achievement and development over the years, no young musician had ever won an award.

Lil G did it, when he got the SALAX MUSIC AWARD. It was the best performance by our young artists. Remember how LIL NGABO(a real kid) did in the National University Of Rwanda! But all this, you already know, so I’ll skip. 

I could of course tell you that although Rwanda is known worldwide for its music and dance and the international awards she has won as a nation. We have since registered some success even on individual artist group level.

Look at the Kigali Boys and their Pearl of Africa Music Award from neighbouring Uganda! So all this I could tell you but I will not. But you fans, allow me to tell you just one thing! Did you know that all Rwandan artists do a lot more than just sing or make their fans happy? They work as a team!

They support each other. And when they are out of the country, and they do well, they make Rwandans proud to be Rwandans, one nation, united, bearing one flag, one language, singing one anthem, and living one dream.

So, media, fans, companies and government, let us support our artists in order to build our music industry. Our young artists are also able to make RWANDANS and RWANDA so cool. Not being XENOPHOBIC but PROUD OF OUR THINGS. Proud to be Rwandan.

The musicians should also ensure their lyrics are worth listening to and nation building if the support is to pour in steadily.
