Rwanda’s professional players, skipper Olivier Karekezi and defender Boubakary Saddou are expected to arrive in the country today.

The pair will straight away link up with their team mates in the Amavubi Stars training camp in preparations for the next 2010 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt scheduled for July 5 in Cairo.

Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday that Karekezi (Ham Kam) and Saddou (Al Ahly Tripoli) will land at Kigali International Airport aboard SN Brussels and Kenya Airways respectively.

Karekezi and Saddou join the other professionals; Jimmy Mulisa (Beveren) and Hamad Ndikumana (Omonio), who have been in the country for close two weeks now.

Kalisa said, "We expect other professionals to join the national team but their identities will be known as soon as their arrivals are confirmed.”

Meanwhile, the national team has enhanced its preparations ahead of a busy schedule where nothing short of a victory will end their campaign of qualifying to the 2010 World cup.

A win against Egypt is the only alternative left for Rwanda dream of making it to the 2010 World Cup finals as well as Africa Nations’ Cup.
Rwanda have managed a point from their opening two 2010 World/Africa Nations Cup qualifiers. The point came in the goalless draw against Algeria.

Algeria tops Group C with seven points after their recent 2-0 win over Zambia. Zambia are second on four points.
