The shipment consists of more than 19 tonnes of food, including fortified food for children, medicines and medical consumables, a related statement indicates.

"Rwanda supports an end to the conflict, and protection of the lives of civilians,” the statement reads in part.

An Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) Flash Appeal of April 17, by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) called for $2.822 billion for UN Agencies, international non-governmental organisation (INGO) and NGO partners to address the most urgent needs of more than three million people in the Gaza Strip (Gaza) and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, covering a nine-month period, from April through December.

The $2.822 billion requested represents only part of the $4.089 billion that the UN and partners estimates is required to meet the needs of the 3.3 million people in need, it added.
