Cameroonian and Newcastle United midfielder Geremi Njitap is yet to decide his future with relegated English side.

The Indomitable Lions midfielder told Times Sport on Monday, "I’m working on it but I don’t know what will happen,”

Geremi, who had an average performance during the All-Stars 4-0 defeat against Amavubi Stars signed for Newcastle in 2007 on a three year deal.

He was appointed club captain for the 2007-08 seasons by then manager Sam Allardyce but lost the armband after new manager Kevin Keegan awarded the captaincy to Michael Owen in January 2008.

One-time Newcastle great Alan Shearer failed to keep the club in the Premier League after it lost 1-0 to Aston Villa last month and was relegated along with West Bromwich Albion and Boro.

On a tense final day of the league campaign, Sunderland and Hull managed to stay up despite losing. West Brom and Middleborough finished with 32 points; Newcastle had 34, Hull 35 and Sunderland 36.

Newcastle has not won the league since 1927, but began the season with high hopes under Kevin Keegan
