Singer and songwriter Niyo Bosco has parted ways with his manager Irene Murindahabi after more than two years of pursuing music under his label, MIE.
Local journalist Murindahabi has been managing Niyo since he launched his music career in 2020 alongside young music duo Vestine and Dorcas.
An announcement put out by Niyo on his social media pages, indicated that parting ways with his management was based on a ‘mutual understanding’ and that there was no disagreement between him and Murandahabi.
"Thank you very much Irene . I will never forget that it is with you that we built the foundation of my music. Without you, I’m no one at all,” reads Niyo’s statement posted on Friday, October 27.
"We have so much in common, let’s focus on the beneficial result of them. This is where I stop being one of your financial concerns, but being your real one and impactful friend won’t ever come to an end,” the statement adds.
Although the artiste didn’t mention the cause of his contract termination with MIE, different reports indicate that his manager was fraudulently taking advantage of the singers’ talent by not paying him a 30 per cent revenue of his YouTube income, among other causes.
Earlier on, the singer released a statement expressing that he’s dealing with hardships in life and that people are using his name to feed themselves while he’s starving.
In the statement he released on September 28, he said, "I don't love who I am. It doesn’t sound usual but I miss my past than the future. I’m tied up with nothing apart from neglecting myself wondering how I am feeding others stomach while mine is starving”
Niyo Bosco remains one of the best vocalists and lyricist in the history of Rwandan music industry. He rose to fame after the release of his first track, Ubigenza Ute’ which got him signed under MIE until he parted ways with the music house on Friday, October 28.
