Addressing members, Governor Aime Bosenibamwe criticized sector leaders over delays in realising rural economic transformation, and challenged poor performing leaders to act or step down.

"I am directing this to the mayor and  the president of the advisory council. Both should   asses the performance of sector executive secretaries, and I recommend that the non performers to be replaced,’’ he said.

During the meeting, the district highlighted development initiatives made in the last three years within social, economic and political domains.

According to statistics provided by the Mayor, Celestin Kalabayinga, the district increased the production of cash crops such as  Irish potatoes from 12 tonnes/ha to 17 tonnes/ha.
