Julian Martinez’s ladies veered off a fry out approach in the group stages to claim an emphatic 86-34 victory against Gladiators of Burundi in the last group stage encounter on Tuesday, October 29.
"Yeah, the mentality was just trying to execute the game plan. We knew that maybe the team was going to be a little less, not as talented as us, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't treat the game with the same respect,” US-Kenyan hooper, Victoria Reynolds, said after the win in which she contributed 16 points and 5 rebounds.
"So our coach was just saying make sure that we try to play perfect, you know, on our plays, on our defense and everything,” she added.
Going into the quarter-finals, Reynolds maintained that her team is ready to do even better to propel their campaign.
"There are always adjustments to be made, especially defensively,” she said.
"I think we could have done better and made sure that our offense is clicking and the defence is locked in.”
