Rwanda’s run at this year’s East Africa Military Games continued to fall apart after yesterday’s 29-24 handball defeat against Kenya.

Despite a solid start, the hosts slowly crumbled against a physical Kenyan side that dominated the second half.

Andrew Ndagigumana finished as Rwanda’s top scorer with seven goals while Nixon Oyaro, Julius Muli and Paul Ngei scored 21 goals amongst themselves to give Kenya their second victory of the tournament.

Time and again, Kenya’s long balls left Rwanda’s defense helpless.

Rwanda’s handball coach Jean Marie Vianney Munyangondo noted that Kenya’s physical game made the difference at the end of the day.

"We failed to deal with their physical presence,” he said.

Kenya now tops the table with six points. Rwanda are second (four points) while Uganda are third (three points).
